Most tint jobs are finished within a few hours. You can wait at the shop or drop the car and come back. The bigger number to plan around is the curing time after.
After tint goes on, wait 2 to 3 days before rolling the windows down. The film needs that time to set fully against the glass, and rolling down early can lift an edge. A little haze or a few water pockets in the first days are normal and clear as it cures.
One upside of the desert: the heat speeds curing along. Leave the windows up the first couple of days, park in the sun, and the tint sets clean.
