Anyone can buy film. A Certified XPEL Dealer is trained and set up to install XPEL tint and paint protection film to the standard the film is designed for, which is what makes the warranty real.
Cut to the car, not close enough
Certified installs use patterns cut to your specific car and laid by hand, so the film wraps edges clean instead of being trimmed rough on the panel. That fit is the difference between film you notice and film you do not.
The lifetime warranty
Because the install is done to spec with XPEL film, the tint and paint protection film carry a lifetime warranty. That only holds when the dealer and the film match, which is the whole point of the certification.
